The Maison Rurale de l'Outre-Forêt, in collaboration with the association “Les Amis de Lucien et Claire JUNG”, unveils an exceptional selection of works by Lucien Jung, from shadow to light.

Lucien Jung was born in 1936 in Schiltigheim. He began exhibiting his paintings in Alsace in 1961 and participated in numerous exhibitions in France – at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1964 and at the Grand Palais from 1970 to 1973 – as well as abroad. He is the author of a great many portraits: to name just two, that of one of his spiritual fathers, Albert Schweitzer, which is exhibited in Pfaffenhoffen, and that of Tomi Ungerer, in the museum bearing his name. Lucien Jung lovingly observes everyday life and nature and enjoys revealing the spiritual dimension of being. Tomi Ungerer said of him: "In my eyes, Lucien Jung is one of the greatest talents we have in Alsace…"
