The House of Archeology dialogues for the first time with contemporary creation. Pierre Gangloff, an artist familiar with such resonances with the past, history and memories, exhibits his works throughout the museum route. He is an artist with a dense background, a self-taught creator who has been working for more than 3 decades in Alsace, from his current studio in Reichshoffen.
Through an ambulatory principle, visitors to the Maison de l'Archéologie are invited to observe the singular gaze of the artist and his way of giving substance to an imagination steeped in literary and artistic sources. Pierre Gangloff's creations, between figuration and abstraction, constitute universal stories where the sacred takes its place. They are revealed in a controlled chiaroscuro, where the color, the saturated pigments, bring a material projection. Painting, drawing, engraving or collage, all techniques are used. The supports follow one another and we discover wood, paper, kraft, scrap metal, glass and even Plexiglas becoming stories at the heart of the museum.
