Located on the edge of the village of Hatten, the Esch casemate museum evokes both its role within the Maginot Line and in the 1939-1940 campaign, as well as in the terrible battle of Hatten-Rittershoffen.

Located on the edge of the village of Hatten, the Esch casemate museum evokes both its role within the Maginot Line and in the 1939-1940 campaign, as well as in the terrible battle of Hatten-Rittershoffen of January 1945 - the last great confrontation of armored vehicles of the 1939-45 war - where it will be attacked successively by the Germans and the Americans. Many traces of these fights are still visible on the building.
The Esch Infantry Casemate was occupied by the 23rd Fortress Infantry Regiment in 1939-40.
