Leiterswiller, an associated commune of Hoffen, has a Protestant church whose particularity is to be the oldest in Outer Forest. Its bell tower is half-timbered, a rarity to admire.
At the beginning of the 1189th century, the church was renamed Saint-André. In 1693 it was known as Saint-Aegide. From 1897 to XNUMX, it served for both religions; it was a so-called simultaneum church until the construction of a Catholic church.
The Protestant church was rebuilt in 1736 and the bells date from 2000. It has a monumental cross dated 1784. It has been classified as a historic monument since March 13, 1924.
