Unique half-timbered church in Alsace.

This half-timbered church, one of a kind in the region, is an architectural treasure. It was built in 1820 to serve as an oratory and a “Bet und Schulhaus” school. It is classified as a historical monument.
It is the result of teamwork involving many local craftsmen. In the past one entered the church by the door giving on the street, whereas the access of the school was on the side. On the ground floor was the classroom and on the first floor the teacher's accommodation. The church still contains the original furniture (altar, pulpit, pews).

You can also discover a half-timbered guardhouse from the XNUMXth century, the “Wachthiesel” a few steps away.
