This museum presents a complete panorama of archaeological research in northern Alsace, from prehistory to the industrial era. Formerly renowned for its Gallo-Roman collections which come from the spa town, the museum has become a mecca for medieval archeology thanks to the work of volunteers who, for more than ten years, have been raising the Schoeneck, one of the many castles of the Northern Vosges, from its ruins. A fine collection of stoves recalls the industrial adventure of the Dietrichs, ironmasters.
