Dive into history with this strategic casemate of the Maginot Line, which played a key role in the fighting of June 1940 under the command of Lieutenant Rieffel.

This work of the Maginot Line is one of the 5 fortifications defending the communal ban of Oberrœdern and was part of the main line of defense between the imposing artillery work of Schoenenbourg and the shelter of Hatten.
The two-level casemate. It is one of the first built on the Maginot line in 1930. It housed 24 men under its reinforced concrete shell. Attacked in June 1940 and January 1945, it still bears the marks of these bombings, like the 4 other casemates located in the town.
