Castle built around 1200, restored in the 20th and XNUMXth centuries. Remains of the XNUMXth century dwellings and the pentagonal keep. Entrance dating from the XNUMXth century, protected by two artillery bastions and giving access to the farmyard. Visitors can also see the XNUMXth century west tower there. For more than XNUMX years, the Cun Ulmer Grün association has been working to safeguard, secure and consolidate the Château du Schoeneck. She works in collaboration with the curator of the Maison de l'Archéologie in Niederbronn-les-Bains where the objects unearthed during the excavations are exhibited. Guided tours of the castle are offered in season.


Access: from the car park located along the D 53 between Obersteinbach and Wineckerthal, take the path marked with a green triangle which goes directly up to the castle. Count 20 minutes of walking.
