Located in the heart of the Drachenbronn forest massif, placed like a belvedere on one of the peaks of the Northern Vosges Massif, the Chemin des Cimes Alsace is one of the attractions of the Alsace Verte territory not to be missed under any circumstances. !

An observation tower in the middle of nature

Walk above the trees? But yes, it is possible in Alsace Verte with this observation tower, the Chemin des Cimes Alsace. The tower is accessible in two ways, from a large free car park located below: the bravest visitors will take a hiking trail decorated with panels evoking the fauna and flora and dotted with tables and rest benches (count 1 hour), the others can take the mini-train which will transport them quietly from the car park to the entrance of the site during a 15-minute journey on a small winding forest road. In both cases, the visitor will arrive at the foot of the observation tower which he will have to climb to finally enjoy this unique experience!

A gentle approach for a breathtaking view

The introduction is done gently: the path first progresses gently over a length of 625 m in the middle of the peaks, giving to observe the species of trees of our beautiful forests of the Northern Vosges in search of animals that hide and nest there. Open your eyes wide, curious squirrels might surprise you...

“From the platform of the observation tower, the 360° view is impregnable and breathtaking, each season declining its colors and its luminosity! »

Arrived at the foot of the tower, the slope becomes slightly steeper and it is in a spiral that the journey continues towards the summit which culminates at 29 meters. From the platform of the observation tower, the 360° view is impregnable and breathtaking! Located in the heart of the Vosges du Nord Regional Natural Park, you can observe from up there all the richness and diversity of this exceptional territory, each season declining its colors and its luminosity: whether in summer, in autumn or in the middle of winter, the experience is always magical. As far as the eye can see, the landscapes of the Rhine plain framed by the Black Forest to the east and by the Northern Vosges to the west will never cease to amaze you. And if you are lucky enough, on a clear day, heading south… you can see the very small spire of Strasbourg Cathedral in the distance.

A unique experience for young and old

The adventure continues and thrill seekers will not hesitate to try sliding down the slide installed within the tower itself. With a length of 75 meters, it will take you to the foot of the belvedere in a few seconds. On arrival, if you raise your head you will be able to observe the impressive all-wooden structure, made up of 80% renewable raw material.

This unique experience is designed to suit all audiences: whether with the family or solo, whether you are young or old, adventurous or not... the route allows everyone to reach the summit at their own pace, and is also perfectly suited for pushchairs, walkers and wheelchairs.
