Walking

From Wissembourg to Wissembourg via Lembach, Obersteinbach, Niederbronn-les-Bains and Goersdorf. A circuit at the gates of the Northern Vosges to discover its rich heritage.

Stage 1: Wissembourg - Lembach via Soultzerkopf (22 km), other variants are possible, via Pfaffenbronn (21 km) or via Wingen (16,5 km)

Departure from Wissembourg, a fortified city ranked among the most beautiful detours in France, passing through the Col du Pigeonnier. Descent to Climbach towards the Pfaffenschlick pass via the remains of the Climbach chapel and the Climbronn fountain, then the Soultzerkopf.

Stage 2: Lembach - Obersteinbach (17,5 km) variant via Niedersteinbach (16 km)

On the way to Gimbelhof and Fleckenstein Castle, a detour is possible via the ruins of Loewenstein and Hohenburg, superb panoramas guaranteed. Passage by the Froenbourg ruin, the Hichtenbach pass, the Bohemian rock and the Wasigenstein ruin. If you have the courage, possibility of a detour via Petit Arnsbourg and Wachtfels.
Stage 3: Obersteinbach - Niederbronn-les-Bains (18 km)

Direction the castles of Windstein via the Gabelfels, the Wineckerthal pass and the Gruenthal! The route continues towards the Grand Wintersberg, the highest point in the Northern Vosges, via the hamlet of Wineckerthal and the Col de Borneberg. Magnificent panorama of the Northern Vosges and the plain of Alsace from the belvedere tower of Grand Wintersberg.

Stage 4: Niederbronn-les-Bains - Goersdorf (15km)

From the spa town, go to Froeschwiller, a typical Alsatian village, passing through the lake of Reichshoffen, Nature Reserve. Several monuments of the "Battle of Reichshoffen" are visible during the route. Opportunity to visit the Museum of the Battle of August 6, 1870 before reaching Goersdorf.

Stage 5: Goersdorf - Wissembourg (21,5 km)

This last stage takes part of the "Baristetressel", an old Roman road which, it is said, linked Niederbronn-les-Bains to Wissembourg. Passage through Marienbronn and the Seven Fountains. Short stop at the Cleebourg wine cellar before continuing on the arboreal path then the road to Saint Jacques de Compostela. Arrival in Wissembourg.
