A walk in the vineyard of Cleebourg which offers beautiful views!
From the train station car park, follow Avenue de la Gare to the roundabout at the entrance to the city centre.
Follow the red rectangle towards the Col du Pigeonnier, walk along the river for 300m then turn left onto Rue du Château d'Eau. Turn left again onto a path then rejoin Rue de Turkheim, then Rue de la Décapole before taking the path on the right.
After reaching the RD3 departmental road, take the path to the right that runs alongside it, leading to the Scherhol Forestry House (altitude 313 m). You can reach the wooden shelter overlooking the wine-growing village of Rott, offering panoramic views, by following the red rectangle markers. Continue through the Hochwald massif, between the Vosges Mountains and the Alsatian foothills. Ascend the Edouard Dietenbeck trail and continue the climb towards the pass, still following the red rectangle markers.
At the junction with the yellow rectangle, follow it to the left (parallel to the red ring) to reach the Col du Pigeonnier and the Club Vosgien refuge (open on weekends).
Carefully cross the RD3 and, at the level of the information gate, take the logging path marked with a green disc. Take the path on the left descending towards the place called Holly Giant, a remarkable tree reaching an exceptional size. Arrival on the RD77, cross it to visit the Cleebourg wine cellar, before continuing on your left. Then, always follow the green disc passing through the village of Steinseltz and which will take you back to Wissembourg via the cemetery.
