Flowered Towns and Villages of Green Alsace
Deployed throughout France to reward local authorities working to enhance the value and attractiveness of their territories, the Towns and Villages in Bloom label rewards the most deserving candidate municipalities each year, according to a strict evaluation grid.
The winning municipalities are awarded prizes of 1 to 4 flowers and in Alsace as well as elsewhere… the visitor discovers this label proudly affixed at the entrances of the municipalities, as they travel around.
In Alsace Verte, no fewer than four municipalities hold the ultimate award of 4 flowers!
Seebach, a White Village awarded 4 flowers in 2025!
A white village with a unique charm, Seebach has preserved an exceptional built heritage of magnificent half-timbered houses all painted white, whose framework and architectural details are thus particularly well highlighted.
In the warmer months, everyone pitches in: both the town and the residents bring out their planters and plants, with the traditional red geranium remaining the star flower of the season. This beautiful village, typical of the Alsace Verte region, transforms into a picture-perfect scene, which you absolutely must visit when you're in the area!
This latest award adds to the already long list of municipalities awarded 4 flowers in Alsace Verte:
A Dieffenbach-lès-Woerth It was volunteers from the village who entirely created the decorative elements that made it possible to install a reproduction of Asterix's village in the sumptuous flowerbeds.
Hohwiller proudly displays its 4 flowers for many years, which rewards a traditional Alsatian village floral display.
A MattstallThe municipality has taken a gamble on diversity by implementing an atypical floral display, in keeping with the rural identity of the village.
Today, the Villes et Villages Fleuris label, beyond being a simple flower competition, works to improve the living environment and respect for the environment.
As part of a demanding and innovative approach, it now incorporates major environmental issues, pushing communities to take into account the greening of public spaces, the preservation of natural resources, the protection of biodiversity and adaptation to climate change, while contributing to the enhancement of heritage.
