This 7 km forest circuit on either side of the Franco-German border will take you to the charming village of Nothweiler (D). Magnificent view of the ruins of the castles of Loewenstein, Hohenburg and Wegelnburg from the rock of Kappelstein. Along the way, you can explore the Nothweiler iron mine, open from April to October: guided tours every hour from 11 a.m. to 17 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday (www.nothweiler.de).
